Today I woke up fully meaning to start a book that came in from Amazon, but God did something strange and amazing.

Just getting back from my walk and I tried the whole time to articulate exactly what it meant...
.
My friend Jill told me about this great timeless read called “The Secrets of Women Who Get What They Want” by Kate White, and I immediately resonated with the title (hello #competitive🙋🏻♀️)
.
But what I read in the first paragraph stopped me in my tracks and it literally screamed at me to look at what I already have, what I already got, what dreams have already come true.

The first paragraph said this...
Begin at the Beginning:
“Is there something you want right now in a bad, bad way? Something you’ve been craving but just don’t know how to get? Like a one-hundred-year-old Victorian house with a wraparound porch and four fireplaces and a bookshelf-lined study?”

Whaaaa?
.
Guys, I literally dreamed about my house for YEARS. I drove by it EVERYDAY for 5 years on my way to work.
.
It’s a 100 + year old Victorian with FOUR fireplaces, a bookshelf-line study and the best wraparound porch in Texas.

God just said, “Seriously, Brooke?”
.
Sit back for a second, quit living in what you want and look at what you have. Celebrate what you already accomplished.

I’m still gonna ready this fantastic book, and I’m still gonna dream my ass off (duh), but sometimes the secret is to first look at what you already have... #BeginattheBeginning just like Kate said. This is my beginning for today and I like what I see.
