Owning a venue brings me closer to a lot of inspirational women in our community. Each month, I highlight at least one of them. Monica Mangiacapra and Jessica Cernat are two of those special girls moving and shaking our community with their happy, helpful and ambitious souls. These two came to me in October of 2018 with an idea for a wholesome girl’s group called Society Gals.
Monica wanted a monthly gathering during which women could refuel their minds, reset their focus, promote local business and give back to the community. She wrote in her about section on Facebook, “Society Gals’ mission is to build a community of local women who promote our community and love out loud. We are women seeking solidarity, joy, and reassurance in life’s journey. We are all different – career focused, stay-at-home moms, single, divorced, widowed, dog moms, entrepreneurs, etc. Our differences make us better and that allows us help each other conquer life.”
Jessica Cernat, owns a booming wedding and portrait photography business called Jessica Cernat Photography and is the official photog of The Society Gals. When I first met her she asked if there was anyway she could help. Her offer to help was not just lip service, and I was shocked when Jessica came out a few days later and spent the entire day with me to wash, iron, install and hang curtains. For all you enneagram fanatics, I’m guessing she is a 2. It was as if we had been friends forever. Jessica is an old soul with a huge heart and an amazing God-given talent for photography. Please check her out!
Society Gals have hosted a gift wrapping exchange, a watercolor workshop and floral design class. Join them for their next event! All photographs were taken at Brookielynn’s Bungalow by Jessica Cernat Photography.
