CHRISTINE MILLER, DRIVING FORCE & VISIONARY OF GREAT OAK CIRCLE
I’m kicking off the month with a bang with the introduction of Christine McDermott on Friday, December 1st in a live, candid interview. Christine has been selected as the co-host for this coming month, and I could not be more excited for you guys to get to know her. Christine has been with me in my business from day one. In life, we don’t always get it right the first time, but, MAN, did I hit the jack pot when I found her. She built my first site in April of 2013 and my second in June of 2016. She’s the visionary behind my logos, hang tags, business cards, thank you cards, brochures, t-shirts, banners and gift cards. Investing my money in her expertise has single-handedly been the best thing I ever did for Brookielynn’s Bungalow.
Without my site and brand, I would not have the confidence in my business that I have today. Her work has been the key to unlocking the potential of all that Brookielynn’s Bungalow is and can be in the future. I look forward to sharing my most prized weapon…Christine Miller of Great Oak Circle.
What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?
I really love shopping small and/or local. My heart beams when I see the local hardware store and the corner farmer’s market thrive. That is my big WHY for what I do. I get to support small businesses in a giant way with a professional online presence that helps them succeed in the ever-increasing online market place.
Personally, I’m really passionate about nurturing young couples and teaching them to like each other and love the Lord. My husband and I teach the newly marrieds in our church, and see such importance in cultivating a healthy marriage that lasts.
What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?
I love to encourage entrepreneurs in the things they do well, and help them gain confidence to really shine online. It’s part of what I get to do during my time with them, but for me, it’s life-giving, and we should all do a bit more of it…for free;)
What are you surprisingly good at?
I don’t know if I’m surprisingly good at it, but I LOVE crossfit style workouts and don’t miss a day! My gym girls are my tribe! I love that I can mark progress at skills, and continue to surprise myself at what I can achieve with old fashioned hard work and practice.
What’s the biggest proof that you’re good at what you do?
A booked solid business that is 100% referral based.
How long have you been working in your field?
I’ve worked in various parts of design since 2000. I worked in interior design, film and theater/television for several years before going back to school for web design, which I’ve worked in for 12 years.
What’s your biggest accomplishment?
Ha! Laundry?!? I really don’t think much about it, but probably starting a business that is actually profitable and has a team is a pretty great accomplishment.
How does your education connect to your professional career? What about personal experiences?
All my design experience and education makes me great at what I do. I’ve also taken boat loads of classes on marketing and PR to round out my skillset. Personally, I’m a small business owner too! So I always feel what my clients feel. I know what it’s like to try to get started with no time and no money, and to struggle through the what-ifs while it looks like everyone else in the literal world is “making it.”
What problems do you consistently solve for your clients?
I think one of the best things I give to clients is self-confidence. You know how you feel when you have on a new outfit that looks great on you? A totally unique and branded website sparks the same kind of energy in my clients. My process typically makes them think a lot about who they are and what they sell, so when we are done, they feel ready to conquer the world!
What are you complimented on most in your work?
There are really 2 things people focus on, the product and the process. Our goal is a really pleasant process, which means we are kind and work hard, even through the inevitable snags. And we produce a product that they LOVE. We are complimented on both, but I think it’s our people that get the highest marks from clients.
Who is your ideal client and why should they connect with you?
My ideal client understands the value of their online presence and are ready to invest themselves in making is amazing! The best way to contact me is by email, or booking a call on my website! Greatoakcircle.com, Christine@greatoakcircle.com
